Five days in wine country,
guided by the chef.
Chef/Owner Christopher Czarnecki takes a small group through the valley he has cooked in for years: the wineries, the tables, the back roads between them. Your rooms, your driver, your tastings and your best meals are arranged. All you book is this trip and your flight.
The Willamette Valley has hundreds of wineries, from tasting rooms that welcome walk-ins to small producers who pour by appointment only. Most visitors spend their trip choosing, booking and driving.
On this trip you do none of that. We meet you at the airport, settle you into your hotel, make every appointment, drive every mile, and seat you at the tables we would choose for ourselves.
The Allison Inn and Spa
Book the flight.
We handle the rest.
Your guide
Local knowledge, not a stranger's top ten list.
Forums and review sites are full of other people's favorites. This trip is built by people who live and work here, and who know the producers by name.
A family that has cooked with wild mushrooms for more than 100 years, since Joe Czarnecki's tavern in Reading, Pennsylvania.
Decades of relationships with the vintners next door.
Wine Spectator Best of Award of Excellence every year since 2010, and a member of the Château d'Yquem Lighthouse Program.
The five days
A sample itinerary.
Every trip is shaped by the season and by what your group likes in a glass. The rhythm stays the same: two or three unhurried visits a day, never a race from stop to stop.
Your driver meets you at Portland International Airport. A first tasting on the way into the valley, time to settle into your hotel, then dinner at The Joel Palmer House: The Oregon Omakase Experience, with wines chosen from our cellar.
Day 1
Arrival and the welcome dinner
Seated tastings in the red hills above Dayton, with lunch included along the way. The evening is yours, with our dinner recommendations in hand.
Day 2
The Dundee Hills
Day 3
Eola-Amity Hills and dinner out
South to the Eola-Amity Hills, then dinner with wine at another of the valley's restaurants, chosen by the chef and included in your trip.
Small producers and appointment-only cellars on the north and west sides of the valley, with lunch included. In season, Chef Christopher points out where the wild mushrooms come from.
Day 4
Ribbon Ridge, Chehalem Mountains, Yamhill-Carlton
Day 5
One last pour, then home
A final morning visit, and your driver returns you to the airport in time for your flight.
"There is a reason why the Joel Palmer House has one of the best selections of Oregon Pinot Noir in the country. They have cultivated relationships with local wineries, and therefore get the good stuff."
~Alex Sokol Blosser, President, Sokol Blosser Winery
